When applying for a job, AI is increasing discrimination and leading to perfectly qualified people getting rejected within minutes for no reason. Older workers, women, disabled people, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds are being rejected for jobs they are more than qualified to do because the AI tool screening them is biased. There are now active court cases showing just how big this problem is. Often you hear back within minutes of sending off an application, rejected before a human could have possibly read it. It's not a fair way to hire people, it's discrimination but with no way to push back or even flag it.

You've already said hiring isn't getting fairer since AI took over. We're asking you to back that up with a law. Three things need to become a legal requirement, not just guidance employers can ignore:

- Tell applicants when it's a robot. If AI screened or scored your application, you should be told.
- Let applicants ask for a human. If you're rejected by an algorithm, you should be able to get a real person to look at it properly.
- Check the robots aren't biased, and publish it. AI hiring tools should be independently tested for age, race, sex and disability bias every year, with the results made public.
