Petition text
Dear Prime Minister Boris Johnson,
Put our rights at work back into the legally binding Withdrawal Bill. There's no reason to move them out of the legally binding withdrawal bill and into the political declaration. Put them back.
Signed,
Why is this important?
Boris Johnson's latest scheme is to drop workers' rights from the Brexit deal. [1] Boris has shifted our rights at work out of the legally binding Withdrawal Agreement Bill and into the 'political promises' section. Even though he's saying he won't scrap paid holidays or other rights, it won't be guaranteed. He's broken promises before, why should we trust him on this one?
Together we can send the clearest possible message that we want workers' rights legally protected - no matter what Brexit we get. Boris doesn't want anyone to know about this small but significant legal change. Please add your name to the petition to expose Boris:
NOTES:
[1] BBC News: "In the new Brexit deal finalised this week, references to a level playing field were removed from the legally-binding withdrawal agreement. Instead, they appear in the non-binding political declaration on the future relationship - as an aspiration, but not a legal commitment."
EXPOSED: Boris, where have workers' rights gone?!
Will you chip in?
