I'm very worried about visiting a Specsavers because your staff can't afford to stay home if they are sick. Being face to face with a sick optician is dangerous.

The very nature of optical tests means that a sick staff member could be infecting dozens of customers a day. Customers come to Specsavers because it is seen as a trusted and reputable company, not one that is a breeding ground for infection.

One customer said: "Proper paid sick leave should be a basic human right. It reduces stress from loss of earnings and encourages employees to not return to work until they are fit to do so. This could help reduce accidents at work and reduce the spread of infectious diseases.”

Introducing a higher minimum level of sick pay is not only the right move for public health, it is also the right thing for your staff. Here is what your staff are saying:
