As you begin you new role as Health Secretary, I am writing to urge you to terminate the NHS contract with Palantir Technologies as a priority.

Palantir has well-documented links to Donald Trump and supplies technology to the US and Israeli militaries. This is not a company that should hold privileged access to the private health records of millions of people in this country.

I was deeply concerned to learn that Palantir staff have been granted what has been described as "unlimited access" to NHS patient data. This is not what patients consented to when they shared their most sensitive personal information with the health service. It is a serious breach of public trust.

I understand that a break clause exists in the current contract, and that officials have already been exploring whether it can be activated. I am asking you to take that step.

Please can you:

- Commit to reviewing the Palantir contract urgently, with a view to activating the break clause
- Confirm that patient data held by Palantir will be protected and that access will be immediately restricted pending that review
- Provide a clear public timeline for when a decision will be made

NHS staff have already raised serious concerns about this contract. It is time for the government to listen.
