I am a Special Needs one-to-one teaching assistant and work in a mainstream school. I work with a child which can be very challenging, but very rewarding when you see progress in their learning and social skills. Each day is different not knowing what to expect in the child's behaviour and learning.

One to one support working with special needs children in a mainstream
We do not get Special Needs Allowance. Unlike in a Special School where special needs staff are regarded for their hard work and dedication with this special needs Allowance and we doing the same work in a mainstream school should get this Allowance too.
All Special Needs Staff working in a mainstream school should be entitled to Special Needs Allowance.
