To Shabana Mahmood, Home Secretary
We were told this surveillance was being installed at our supermarket to keep customers safe.
The truth is, I feel watched all the time. We're being spied on while we're already overworked and understaffed. It's a waste of time and money that should be going towards proper staffing instead.
It's no better for customers. This software is prejudiced and gets things wrong, with higher error rates for women and people of colour.
We've even heard of customers being wrongly flagged and banned from buying their groceries, when they were innocent!
