To Prime Minister Andy Burnham
The rise in anti-immigrant narratives are really scary, they feel incredibly unwelcoming and threatening. Reform UK is escalating this by trying to introduce an employer tax just for keeping me on, just because I don't have a UK passport.
This is the case also for all those with settled status, on work visas, people on study and family routes - both EU and non-EU citizens. Everyone, except Irish passport holders.
This is incredibly disheartening, most essential services are filled by immigrants in the UK. In the NHS alone, most of the workforce would be affected. But even though Reform is not in government and can't introduce this yet, the threat ITSELF makes me incredibly insecure about my job.

I want Prime Minister Andy Burnham to do two things:
- First, hold a proper consultation on how post-Brexit immigration rules are actually affecting workers and employers. People are being incredibly affected by the impact of Brexit and we need to have not another private review, but one that listens to the people making hiring decisions and the people affected by them.
- Second, commit now that no UK government, his or any other's, will EVER tax a person differently because of their passport. There should be no discrimination, ever, based on passports.
