To The government

I worked as a contracted nurse in the NHS for many years. I worked through covid along with all other nurses in the NHS. I decided to retire as of the end of December '22. When the government, eventually decided on a pay deal with the nursing unions, it included a "one off" bonus payment for the financial year "April '22 to March '23" but they put in a clause that you had to be contracted by the NHS on the 31st of March 2023. This means that people like me, who have worked part or almost all of this financial year, got nothing, and will get nothing. The clause the government has included in this deal, is totally unfair to all the NHS nurses (I include all care staff when I say "nurses"), who left the service between April 1st '22 and the 31st March '23. Please help to rectify this injustice.

Petition text

The government needs to understand that their decision to include the clause, in relation to the "one off" bonus payment for he financial year '22 - 23, is unfair and unacceptable. All those who have worked part or most of that financial year, should also be entitled to part or all of the bonus. They need to reverse this clause.
