To David Black, Chief Executive of Ofwat

How can bonuses be paid to shareholders, when they have not carried out the work or services demanded by these businesses? The Liberal Democrats have revealed water company executives have been paid over £41 million in bonuses, benefits and incentives over the past three years. Why then, are these businesses and the government expecting customers to pay more for their bills? That's £41 million diverted from investment in research, development, maintenance, and legal operating requirements. UPDATE… 11 February 2024… Well! The government just announced it will block on bonuses of UK water firms which are illegally polluting rivers, lakes and seas, (criminal breaches). Mr Barclay, Environment Secretary, stated, this will start in 2024 - 25 financial year. Previously, of the 11 senior executives who took bonuses (G ** B’s) but 6 declined after public anger. R bless.. P.S bills hike is about £156, must be to increase their salaries. Any criminal action taking place ! ! !

Petition text

As the economic regulator for the water and sewage sectors in England and Wales, Ofwat must demand a recall of payments issued as bonuses, commissions and/or returns on investment when the level of service is not at a legal, ethical and moral standard. When companies expect customers to pay for or bail them out, to cover these cost shortcuts, there must not be any payouts.

Thousands have signed, joined them in forcing the government to stop any payments of dividends in failing utilities companies. Like France keep utilises in house and let the people of the country benefit from the profit not capitalist…
