To Anthony Hemmerdinger, Boots Managing Director
Boots currently pays colleagues in customer service £11.44 an hour, which is the legal living wage, increasing to the real living wage after six months in the role. Colleagues working in inner London - but not greater London - get the London living wage rates. Boots must pay its workers the real living wage from day one to help support colleagues with the cost of living at a time when many of us are struggling to afford everyday necessities, like food, travel, and heating.
With the legal and real living wages rising in April, now is the time to guarantee all Boots workers a real living wage from the start and show that Boots is a company that cares about protecting its staff from increasingly inequality. We want Boots to commit to paying the new real living wage rates of £13.85 in London (including greater London) and £12.60 outside London for all workers as soon as employment begins.
