To Minister of State for Crime, Policing and Fire The Right Honourable Chris Philp
All MPs in both the House of Commons and The House of Lords
It is certain that my fireground exposures have given me cancer.
I don't want any more firefighters or their families to go through the agony of cancer.
At the moment our legislation means to get compensation I have to prove what chemical at which incident triggered my cancer.
Presumptive Legislation as provided in all other developed nations would mean I and hundreds of other UK firefighters would be able to access immediate care, compensation and support without the need for running expensive court cases.
Open letter text
MPs to drive through Presumptive Legislation on to our statutes for all firefighters suffering chronic life-threatening or life-changing diseases so they can immediately access compensation, diagnosis, treatment and support.
