AI is already deciding who gets hired, monitored, disciplined and fired across the UK, often without workers even knowing. There are no laws to stop this. Despite promising binding AI regulation in its 2024 manifesto, the Labour government is quietly delaying the AI Bill. Instead, it signed a tech deal with the Trump administration, a deal Trump described as about "a lot of deregulation."

Our rights were traded away before we even knew they were on the table. Nine in ten people in the UK want an independent AI regulator with real enforcement powers.

Pass the TUC's Artificial Intelligence (Regulation and Employment Rights) Bill into law. It's ready to go, fully drafted, and would give every worker in the UK the right to know when AI is making decisions about them and the right to have a human review those decisions.
