To Secretary of State for Health and Social Care

The government are putting the minimum wage up to £11.44ph from April. I am currently a band 2 NHS worker in emergency theatre as a theatre support worker. I currently get £11.44ph therefore from April I will be earning minimum wage for working nights in emergency theatre. I have worked in the NHS for 19 years so I am at the top of my banding - I won't be getting any more pay rises from my band. There is no band 3 or 4 at work, the only other banding is 5 from band 2! Due to my situation I can't go to university to do any training for band 5 for 3 years. What's the plan going forward to keep the staff working in the NHS from leaving for better pay and not earning minimum wage?

Petition text

As above, pay NHS workers what we deserve. My job role is theatre support worker, band 2, and will be earning minimum wage from April. I am 52 years old and I have worked in the NHS emergency theatre for 19 years so it's time I feel to make a stand for better pay and staff morale.
