To Steve Barclay, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care
I have worked a total of 14.5 years for the NHS since 2007. I worked 2.5 years during the pandemic. I left the NHS in December 2022. Now it seems because I was not employed on March 31st 2023 I am not entitled to my percentage share of the back pay for the period of 2022/23 which is 8 plus months. How is this right? I worked for the NHS. I worked extra hours to help during the pandemic due to sickness and also on extra clinics to reduce waiting lists. I even worked extra in the vaccination hub at my hospital at the time. How am I not entitled to the "back pay" when I clearly helped during and post pandemic?
Quoted from the eligibility link I was sent from pay roll. "The two payments consist of a 2 per cent non-consolidated award, and a one-off ‘NHS backlog bonus’ to recognise the sustained pressure facing the NHS following the COVID-19 pandemic"
Clearly myself and others are not being recognised for our efforts.
