To Steve Barclay, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care
Here's what one nurse thinks:
I am an NHS nurse, now in my 44th year of nursing and i’ve had enough. I can’t stand by and watch them neglect the NHS and all the staff who work hard every day. Many can’t afford the basics like rent. We all worked ourselves to exhaustion during the pandemic every nurse, doctor, receptionist, porter, OT, physio, everyone! Many colleagues died, we all faced death with every patient who came into hospital and every patient who was visited in their own homes! We put our lives on the line and we watched and did as much as we humanly could to save our patients including Boris Johnson!"

We, the undersigned, call upon the Health Secretary to immediately release the long-awaited NHS workforce plan. Investing in NHS staff, is an investment in the whole country's health. Chronic staff shortages are putting people's health at risk, so a clear roadmap for how to save the NHS is needed NOW.
It is deeply concerning that the workforce plan is being withheld due to concerns over costs. The public's health should always be prioritised over budgetary constraints.
