The Truman Brewery company want to build a data centre in Brick Lane. As a lifelong East Londoner, I am devastated by this news. Brick Lane is the heart of East London. The historic curry houses, bagel shops and amazing clothing stores mean there's something for everyone, both residents and tourists. Building a data centre will produce a constant, terrible noise and disrupt the soul of the area. Big tech is already causing untold damage to the climate, to our communities and to our children. We need to fight back. Brick Lane is about people, not profit. All Londoners need to come together against the Brick Lane data centre!
