To The Minister for Health

My elderly mother-in-law is 93 and still living in her own home. She is looked after by international care workers who visit her four times per day. The care workers are mostly untrained and say that they 'learn on the job'. They are paid a very small wage.

The latest government decision to send families of overseas care workers home is unworkable.

Care workers should be trained more carefully, paid better and international workers should be able to keep their immediate family members in the UK. We need to look after them and value them. If we don't do this soon, the care service will completely collapse and lots of elderly people will suffer.
