The ICJ's landmark decision places a significant responsibility on the UK to act in accordance with international law and uphold its legal and moral obligations.
The UK now must immediately:
1) Cease All Arms Sales to Israel: The UK must halt all arms exports to Israel to ensure that British weapons are not used in the continued illegal occupation and associated human rights violations against the Palestinian people.
2) Ban the Import of Goods from Illegal Settlements: Goods produced in Israeli settlements, which are established in contravention of international law, should not be allowed into the UK market. This ban will help to ensure that UK consumers are not inadvertently supporting apartheid.
3) Suspend Trade Deals and Negotiations with Israel: The UK should suspend its current trade deal and ongoing negotiations with Israel until Israel complies with international law and ends its unlawful occupation of Palestinian territories.
