To Jeff Bezos

We're exhausted. Since the pandemic started, Amazon hugely increased the amount of stops we have to make as delivery drivers. It's a pressure and stress that I've never felt before. We do not get any extra pay for the increase, while Amazon make billions. We have no more power to work as robots. The anxiety for me and other drivers is overwhelming - how can we work this hard for so little, from one of the richest companies ever?

I don't get time to use the bathroom or wash my hands between deliveries properly. It's not safe at all. When I've told Amazon that it's too much to expect people to do, they say that we can find other job. We break rules to make the deliveries on time because we have to, and that's not safe for anyone.

Petition text

Please protect Amazon drivers rather than working us into the ground. Every day now I am expected to deliver around 300 parcels. And drivers cannot do it safely.

What's happening now is not acceptable. It's unsafe for drivers and for customers - all it does it make Amazon even richer.

Please lower the delivery targets for drivers to a safe and legal level.

Check out what a few Amazon drivers are saying right now:

"I drive and eat at the same time otherwise it gets noted that I’ve been in one place for too long. There is no time for bathroom breaks and being female this can really be an issue. I’ve had to not work where it’s been too bad because i know there will be 5/6 hours before i come across a bathroom. That loses me money"

"I'm speeding through back lanes like a rally driver. It's not safe. I'm often running in the dark, nothing but a head torch to see by. My managers are pressuring me to go faster still."
