Petition text
To the Government,
Stop downgrading and undermining the importance of the arts. Arts subjects are essential for the well-being and good mental health of a large percentage of the population.
The arts are constantly being cut, demeaned and devalued. Those of us who work in this sector are constantly made to feel undervalued.
During the pandemic music particularly was used by thousands of people to lift spirits and it has been proven to raise academic levels.
We all know that the economy has been hit due to the pandemic but why target an area which is already struggling? Give back to the arts the patronage it deserves. Stop the proposed cuts to arts funding.
