I'm not well. And it means that for the last few months, I've been isolating as a vulnerable person - I haven't been out of the house since isolation started. But now, my manager is telling me I'm expected to be back in work. I'm so, so scared. One day I'm told that catching covid would probably kill me, the next I'm being asked to get on public transport to go to work.

The reason for this is that the guidance is not clear! It means there's confusion for millions of us. I read that there are eight million people who are classed as vulnerable right now. We all need clearer guidance from the government explaining that vulnerable people are allowed to stay home.

Please sign the urgent petition asking the government for updated guidelines making clear that vulnerable and at-risk people should stay at home:

Petition text

To Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock, Secretary for Health,

I've been classed as vulnerable, and I've followed all the isolation rules as closely as I can. But now with people being encouraged to return to work, my boss is asking me to come in.

I know there are millions in similar positions to me and lots of us are being asked to put ourselves at risk because the guidance on who can and can't stay home is not clear. There's a lot of confusion and that confusion is making things really dangerous.

Please release new guidance to make it clear that vulnerable people are allowed to stay at home until it's safe.

Sincerely,

A vulnerable key worker
